Enable site search tracking for your website
To get started with Site Search tracking, login as the Super User or an Admin user and go to Administration > Websites > Manage (or Administration > Measurables > Manage). From here, edit your chosen website via the pencil icon located on the right
and you can then enable or disable Site Search tracking for your website.
Here is what the admin UI looks like for a particular website:
All Site Search reports are available under the main menu Behaviour > Site Search.
Please note; when enabling the Site Search feature in Matomo using URL Parameters, the Site Searches that are tracked with this method will not register as a pageview in Matomo. Clicked pages from the results of a Site Search should be tracked as a pageview.
The site search action itself will not appear in the pages report
