Why does the Goals report show decimal values for conversions?
In the Goals by Page URL report, conversions are often because Matomo attributes a share of the conversion to each page the visitor viewed during the session before the goal was triggered.
For example, if a visitor views four pages before converting, each page is credited with a quarter of the conversion (0.25). This method provides a more balanced view of how multiple pages contribute to a conversion and avoids over-crediting a single page.
If a visitor converts after viewing several pages, the goal is proportionally distributed across those pages. If a visitor only views one page before converting, that page receives the full conversion value of 1.
In contrast, reports like Goals by Entry Pages typically show whole numbers, as only one page can be the first in the session. Read more about analysing Goal reports and conversion rates.
