The anatomy of tracked content blocks
Content Tracking isn’t enabled by default because you need to define which pieces of content are important to you. There are several components that need to be configured to track a piece of content. These components define the boundaries of the content you are interested in and the specific interactions that you care about.
Content Tracking Components
The important terms to understand when configuring content tracking are listed below:

Content Block – This is a generic term for the container which represents the boundary of one named content block and consists of all the other components. For example, a banner placement on your page could be a content block.

Content Name (Visible within reports) – The name is the broadest element that will appear within your reports. Here, it represents a content block and may refer to multiple pieces of content within that block depending on your configuration. For example, you might use the name Header Banner for a placement that can contain different banner adverts. Within that placement there can be different content pieces such as a banner and text link or even different dynamically loaded creatives such as Black Friday Banner and Thanksgiving Sale Banner. \

Content Piece (Visible within reports) – This is a single piece of content and typically represents a single creative e.g. a banner, a video, etc. The label for this should be the actual content displayed within a content block. Some example values might be Banner Advert or even the specific path to an image file, e.g. /images/BlackFridayBanner.jpg

Content Target **- The target is the actual URL destination of the element that has been clicked. For example, the URL of a landing page that you link to when a visitor clicks on the **Content Piece. In a single page website, it could also be the name of an anchor link within your page. In a mobile app, it could be the name of the screen which the interaction will open. The Content Target isn’t actually shown within your reports. Instead, the target is used to assess whether a successful interaction has occurred or not. The target is essential for accurately tracking the Interaction Rate of a content piece.
