Our mission is to ensure Matomo is enterprise-ready to enable enterprises to seamlessly integrate and leverage Matomo Analytics. Over the years, our fast release cycle has proven beneficial, enabling us to innovate rapidly and fix bugs with each new version. However, for organisations that prefer a slower, more stable update schedule, we also offer a Long Term Support version.

Matomo 4 LTS expires December 19 2024.

What is Long Term Support in Matomo?

Matomo Long Term Support (LTS) ensures stability and reliability for enterprise-level projects by maintaining major releases for an extended period that includes prioritising critical bug fixes and major security updates. This approach may suit organisations seeking stable, secure performance for mission-critical projects or complex custom integrations.

How long is LTS support provided for Matomo releases?

LTS support for any major version continues for at least 12 months after the release of the next major version. Throughout this period, the supported LTS version will receive critical bug fixes and security patches. These updates are released sequentially within the LTS series, ensuring stability and reliability for users who have not yet upgraded to the latest major release.

For example, with the release of Matomo 5.0 in December 2023, Matomo 4.X will be supported until 19 December 2024. During this time, Matomo 4 will continue to receive updates such as Matomo 4.16.1, Matomo 4.17.0, and so forth.

Once LTS support expires, it is recommended to upgrade to the latest major version.
