How do I get Matomo to use HTTPS for links to my site instead of HTTP?

If your site has previously tracked both HTTP and HTTPS URLs you may notice that Visitor Log and Profile links to your site refer to HTTP URLs. For sites where HTTPS is now enforced links to the site in Visitor Log and Profile may no longer work.

In order for Matomo to use HTTPS for links to your site instead of HTTP you can add an HTTPS URL to your Measurable URLs for that site:

  1. Go to your Matomo admin
  2. Go to Measurables > Manage (previously Websites > Manage)
  3. Click the Edit icon for the site you want to make the change on
  4. Under the « URLs » field, add the HTTPS URL

The existing HTTP URL does not need to be removed.
