How does Matomo Form Analytics handle automatic form fillers?

Matomo Form Analytics tracks field timings and form interactions when your website visitors use an autofill tool.

Different autofill tools use different input methods. If using a browser extension or password manager to auto fill, Matomo tracks the auto fill according to the time it takes to auto complete. In other words, it tracks the interactions of the form as if it were actual human interaction.

Depending on the auto fill method, Matomo may track an interaction for every available field in the form. This includes form fields that are not filled.

Many browsers and auto fill tools simulate the user typing and tabbing across the form fields and Matomo records these interactions. However, the field timings will be significantly lower than timings from manual input.
