What types of overage alerts are available in Matomo?

  • Initial Overage Alert: Sent when your usage is first projected to exceed the limits of your current plan.
  • Overage Increased Alert: Sent if the estimated overage grows significantly since the last alert, helping you stay aware of increasing trends.
  • No Overage Detected Alert: Sent when your usage trends improve and you are no longer projected to exceed your quota. This confirms that no further action is needed.
  • Reminder Alerts: Sent weekly or monthly (depending on your billing cycle) if you are still projected to exceed your quota. These help ensure the alert isn’t missed.
  • Plan Upgrade Alert: Sent when Matomo calculates that upgrading your plan would be more cost-effective than paying overage fees.

Will I receive alerts if my usage drops back within plan limits?

Yes. If your usage trends improve and you are no longer projected to exceed your plan limits, you will receive a No Overage Detected alert. This confirms that your usage is back within limits.

Will I be notified if upgrading my plan could save me money?

Yes. If an upgrade would be cheaper than continuing with overage fees, Matomo will send a Plan Upgrade Alert with a recommendation based on your current usage.
